I don't know if anyone has replied to your email regarding Harris Lebus but as one of the last men out of the door I can tell you what became of them. By the 1970's the company which had once been the largest furniture company in Europe based at Tottenham Hale in London had shrunk to an upholstery factory in Reading and a cabinet factory in the old "London General" Omnibus factory in Walthamstow. We made chipboard furniture sold mainly through mail order catalogues. We also made some of the earliest "flat pack" furniture. Things went from bad to worse and in 1980 the company was taken over by PMA and manufacturing moved to an old woolen mill in Halifax. The company collapsed in 1981 but the name was taken over by the "Christie- Tyler" group.
