MH, you are right about the 800 being a series number. I learned that there is a type of silver (800) which is identified by a stamped number on the silver item; however, this only applies to European silver. WM Rogers is an American company and the stamped number is a model number. The items is a silver plated item and is very common. In good condition it is most likely worth about US$50.00. I found mine at a thrift store and just had to polish it a little.
