H & G Tunstall china

Posted by Dot Grocott on October 08, 2003 at 03:23:49:

We have two pieces of china - one a biscuit barrel with wicker handle and a vase, both the same design with the following words on the bottom of the biscuit barrel in gold lettering:-

"Hand painted
"Viola"
Made in England
H & K Tunstall"

It is signed "R Grocott"
Then it has what looks like the number 61 on it and what looks like it 1.48 with 5.

The vase has on it in gold lettering:-

"Hand painted
"Marie Louise"
Made in England
H & K Tunstall
Signed "R Grocott"
It also has a capital U on it and number 666.

We would like to know how valuable they are. The vase needs to be repaired, it has one corner broken off it.

The colours are browns with pansies and fruit on them with gold outlines.

Any help with these would be much appreciated.

They were left for us by the previous owner of our house - my husband's name is Ric Grocott - coincidence.

Thanks

Dot Grocott
