Dreadnaught watch

My wife has been left a ladies Dreadnought watch - we are trying to find out information about it. Its half hunter style solid gold 15 jewel. It has a plain white face, plain numerals in black, except for the 12 which is in red. The strap is also gold. We think its well over 100 years old, as it was her great, great grandmothers. The back & front of the case opens. The only marking besides the gold hallmarks are Dreadnought 201887 (inside the rear casing). The hallmarks are for 9 carat gold and a letter U and what seems like another U inside a square box with a cross behind the U. The watch is in working order. We have checked on various internet sites and can't find anything relating to this watch - any help would be much appreciated, either directly relating to this watch or where we could go for further help.
