Iown a large Tony Weller Character jug and I would like to know more about him. He stands approx 18cm high. On the base is stamped in black 'Beswickware Made In England and the number 7796. Inprinted in the clay is 281 Made In England. He is beautifully painted and in excellent condition. The Beswick Tony Weller jugs I have seen have a red coat and a green hat. My Tony is painted with a black coat and pale green lapel and coller. He wears a gold cravat. His hat is a straw colour with a black band. Would anyone know why he is different. Also... I have a Lancaster & Sandland Ltd Sairey Gamp. Again I have a query as to why my Sairey Gamp is completely white. On the base stamped in green is 'Friendship & Trade, Lancaster & Sandland Ltd, Hanley, England. Regd design 826018. It is in excellent condition. I would appreciate it very much if anyone could give me more information on these two Character jugs. Thanks in advance Jill
