I am trying to identify an old (although hardly antique) piece of test equipment. It is a wooden box (about 10"x6" and 6" high) and contains a high voltage low current generator and has a hand winding mechanism on the side. It was possibly used to test something like telephone/telegragh cables? I seem to remember being told many years ago it came from the railways but that may be incorrect. I have had it for about 25 years and would imagine it was at least 10 years old when i got it.
If you think you can help please let me know, i do have digital pictures available. Cheers, Guy.
