In a basement, we recently found a pocket-watch; we managed to open the back lid and the lid covering the clockwork, which is in pretty good condition. The lid covering the clockwork is engraved with the following words: Rigorosa, Ancre de precision, Levées visibles double plateau, Spiral Breguet balancier coupé, 15 echt rubin Steine (real ruby stones), Qte. extra, London 1906. Beside "ancre de precision", 4 "medals" (resembling goldmedals from a world exhibition) are engraved. Inside the back lid "14 k" resp. "167070" is engraved. We took the watch to a clockmaker´s and he managed to open the front-lid. The dial is also of gold (red gold) with the engraving "Initiative" under the 12 o´clock position. There is an off-center second-hand towards the 6 o´clock posotion. The main hands look somehow like Breguet hands, but instead of the circle towards the end of each hand there is an open diamond shape. On the inner side of the lid, "14 k" and "070" are engraved. Can anybody tell us to which origin this watch could be related resp. where we can get more information about it from clockmakers, distributors or sellers? PS: Referring to the engraving "London 1906", does anybody know if there was a world exhibition (EXPO) in London in 1906?
