Rough hewn mahogany industrial piece

I am trying to determine the origin or use of a rough hewn Mahogany piece that is overall 77 inches long, 23 inches wide and 6 inches thick. It has several large notches in it and slots. Two rounded indentions of about 11 incles in diameter in one side are the main other characteristics. There are holes in the round indentions to allow some type of fluid out and also small square indentions that might have held a metal shaft in place. So the round indentions (they are several inches deep) could have held a metal or stone grinding wheel or something.

It would appear that some type of liquid could have flowed over the piece and allowed to flow through the small holes or along the length of the piece in a slot that is cut into the wood.

All work is crude and appears to be hand planed or chisled.

I can e-mail pictures to anyone who has aa clue. I am trying to clean it and use for vanity and try to keep it as original as possible. I can also fax a drawing with dimensions to anyone who has an interest and a clue.

Best regards,

Ralph
