Recently I acquired a pair of silver frames that look like they should hold wine bottles. Each has a cylinder set into the middle of the bottom with a spring and screw that adjusts a valve, [this loosely resembles the valves on a trumpet, without the screw of course]. The maker is COBB, from Sheffield England. There are four stamps on the underside of what appears to be an oval disc for labeling. The frame has two round feet set on one side of the bottom which enables the unit to lie in a semi-reclining position. When the frame rests on its feet the valve is in a slightly inclining verticle position. Can anyone tell me what they are used for........Please. In any event, they are very interesting, and I am sure that they will be found useful in some capacity.
