Chocolate Jug (??)

Hello everyone
My partner,Sue, has inherited a lovely jug as above and would like to know a little more aboout it. It is approximately 8 inches high to the top of the finnial ( ? ). The markings are as follows :EPBM, SD&co, M1535, with the number 3 underneath, on the underside of the hinged lid it is marked Sheffield. It appears to be in very sound unrepaired condition. Any information or comments would be gratefully appreciated, many thanks.
