I ppurchased a pair of vases at alocal auction and have found a mark on both at the bottom. The letters are very faint and small but are clearly prefaced with G J/ - . Then there is a sqiggle which looks like a stylised m or a w. The vases are 13.25 inchs or 34cm high. They have birds on them in strong relief, a bird of prey holding down a dove(or the like) and another dove flying off to freedom. There are trees and foilage all of which is well marked. The birds have considerable detail and the plumage is clear.
Can anyone help with the mark and also tell me if the scene is representative of a tradition design.
