Help identifying marks on back of porcelain(?) dinnerware

I have several pieces of dinnerware that bear the following markings on the back: A sailing ship on waves above which is written TRADE MARK and below which is written ENGLAND. The ship and words are encircled by a design that resembles a rope running thru cleats (perhaps)/ Above all of that is the word MALTA and below the circle is WAA&CO and then a number: R small o underscored and N small o underscored 331593. In the center of the bowl I'm looking at is the letter C, what looks like another O underscored and another number stamped into the bowl which is difficult to read. The dishs are white with a blue design and rimmed in gold.
Any help anyuone can give me identifying maker and year would be appreciated.
Thank you
Barbara Quinn
