Hello,

I inherited an antique bed that is probably 75-100 years old, and after using the bed for a little over a year its structural issues became apparent. The metal brackets holding the sideboards in place started to pull out. I repaired it by infusing wood chips with glue, but the metal brackets have fallen out again. There are also some fairly major cracks on the headboard and elsewhere.

It's a handsome old bed. Nothing spectacular, but nice. And it needs much more help than I could possibly give it. I will not restore it, but i don't want to simply throw it away. Does this bed sound like a lost cause, or could I sell it to an antique dealer so that they could restore it?

Many thanks.
Cameron
