I am a collector of somr Joseph Rodgers & Sons dinnerware utensils. I have several pieces with V(X)R which date to the Victoria Reginia era and are stated "to her' majasty. i understand they are very collectible. I also have some with the E(X)R which I assume may refer to King Edward Era and state to "his Majasty". Maybe your G(X)R would refer to the King George era. huh? I really can't help any more. I would be interested in your Bowie knife as I live in Texas.
