I also have the 1973 white-faced Rupert annual. As far as I can gather, it seems to be the brown-faced cover for that year that attracts the big money. As to why these faces are different colours - who knows? Maybe the brown-face printer at the Daily Express was on strike for a while (well it WAS the 1970s...)
