Grindley and Petal Ware

My friend Ronald died last year and left me his set of yellow Grindley Petal Ware. I would love to learn more about this set of dishes and the company that made them, and also about who would have been likely to buy such dishes--what market they were aimed at. So far I have not found any leads.

I would also be interested in learning what the numbers on the bottoms mean, and what year they might have been manufactured.
